Terms and conditions
Last updated 25 October 2026
These terms explain what you can expect from ResearchLink and what we expect from you. By creating an account, you agree to them.
Who can use ResearchLink
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required where you live, to create an account. You must give accurate information about who you are, including your name, your institution and whether you are a student or a researcher.
One person, one account. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account.
Your profile and content
You own what you write on ResearchLink: your bio, your research interests and your messages. By posting it you let us store it, show it to other signed-in users and use it to make search results and recommendations work.
Researchers can link an OpenAlex author profile. Only link a profile that is genuinely yours. Paper details shown on ResearchLink come from OpenAlex, which publishes them under the CC0 licence.
Collaboration requests and messages
Requests are for genuine academic collaboration. Don't send spam, bulk or copy-pasted requests, advertising, or anything harassing, discriminatory or sexual.
A researcher is never obliged to accept a request or to reply. Accepting a request does not create an employment relationship, a supervision agreement or any promise of a position, credit or payment.
AI-written email drafts
The email generator writes a draft from a researcher's public papers and the context you give it. Drafts can contain mistakes, including wrong details about someone's work. You are responsible for reading, correcting and deciding whether to send anything it writes.
Things you must not do
Don't impersonate anyone, claim another researcher's papers, scrape or bulk-download profiles, try to get around rate limits or security measures, or use ResearchLink to collect people's personal information for unrelated purposes.
We may limit, suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk.
Availability and changes
ResearchLink is provided as it is, while we keep improving it. Features may change, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We will tell you about important changes to these terms before they take effect; using ResearchLink after that means you accept the new terms.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, ResearchLink is not liable for indirect losses, for decisions you make based on content from other users or from AI drafts, or for the outcome of any collaboration. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
Ending your account
You can stop using ResearchLink at any time and delete your account yourself under Profile → Edit profile, or ask us at research.link11@gmail.com. Accounts that are never confirmed by email are removed automatically after a few days.
